Here is request posted for my friend, Mary Beth:

Please say a prayer for Letty and her twin brother Martin. Martin has been in intensive care this week following a surgery to fix an esophageal tear. The potential for uncontrollable infection is high with these types of problems. Martin is in a very critical time right now – Letty is with him. They both need our prayers for God’s healing, comfort and strength.

Bagpiper at a Funeral

This story came to me from someone who got it from someone else and so on. It was worth the repeatings.

As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a Pauper’s’ cemetery in the back country.

As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn’t stop for directions.

I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and  the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn’t know what else to do, so I started to play.

The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my  heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I’ve never played before for this homeless man. And as I played ‘Amazing Grace,’ the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head hung low, my heart was full.

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say; “I NEVER SEEN  NOTHIN’ LIKE THAT BEFORE AND I’VE BEEN PUTTING IN SEPTIC TANKS FOR TWENTY  YEARS.”

Apparently I’m still lost….it’s a man thing.

Please help my cousin Pat Desselle not to have the continued headaches and loss of vision in her right eye due to a probable tumor. Please let the tumor be noncancerous and operable. Please give Colorado rain all summer to stop all the wildfires. Please help our soldiers. Please help our shepards around the world from evil and be friendly with their flock. Please help my fibromyalgia get better.

I want to affirm the creative energy and soul behind THC. There is short supply of elegantly designed, thought provoking, inspired sites for Catholics on the web. This site is extremely well done. Bravo! God bless all the folks behind THC and the inspiration to “make it happen”. I look forward to visiting the site often! Cheers!

Here is the dramatic conversion story of a man with no prior religious beliefs, who teaches priests and nuns some very beautiful lessons. There are points of proof built into the story itself.

For the first prayer posted, I would ask simply that this site serve well all who visit it and that it help it some small way to spread the light of His Truth.
